Operations Supervisor – Job Description

Safara is a newly formed trucking company engaged in the haulage of good within Rwanda as well as between the neighbouring countries. Setup to take advantage of the governments incentives to encourage investment in the sector, we now require an operations supervisor to help grow the business from the ground up.

Expected duties include:

• Planning and monitoring inbound and outgoing deliveries.

• Supervising logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.

• Organizing warehouse, label goods, plot routes, and process shipments.

• Responding to any issues or complaints.

• Evaluating budgets and expenditures.

• Updating and evaluating metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.

• Ensuring all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and company requirements.

• Maintaining customer service logs and safety records.

• Negotiating and managing contracts with suppliers.

• Managing truck drivers.

• Overseeing maintenance and repairs of company fleet.

• Overseeing sales and marketing to ensure the company fleet are operating at maximum capacity.

• Any other operational duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Experience:

·      Knowledge and experience of working with Trucks with a GCW of 40 tonnes.

·      Knowledge of the Trucking and goods haulage business in Rwanda.

·      Knowledge of the Trucking and goods haulage business between Rwanda and the EAC (DRC, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi).

·      Experience working with Truck drivers and mechanics.

·      Ability to use basic IT systems (Email, Internet search etc).
