VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

SNV Rwanda/Agriterra program is looking for a Business Advisor

Based in Musanze, Rwanda

National Contract

Agriterra aims to professionalize farmers' organizations and cooperatives worldwide, with advice from experts from the Dutch agricultural sector. Our opinion is that strong farmers' organizations and cooperatives lead to more participation, economic growth and a better distribution of income. We focus on economic development and work closely together with the Dutch agribusiness.

Agriterra Rwanda is registered as a program under SNV Rwanda and our team cooperates with farmers’ organizations and cooperatives, in the value chains of coffee, dairy, maize, rice, sugar cane, horticulture and Irish potato. We aim to professionalize their functioning and service provision to their members, where the members want to increase their productivity and income, their position in the markets, access to finance and to add value to their products. Agriterra Rwanda is part of Agriterra’s Great Lakes team, which hence is part of Agriterra’s East Africa team.

Agriterra offers business advisory services to cooperatives with its international Business Advisory Team, while tapping into the competences of Dutch cooperative experts, called Agripoolers, derived from Agriterra’s constituency of various agricultural cooperatives in The Netherlands.

Famer organizations and cooperatives that want to improve the service provision to their members e.g. on extension, can count on Agriterra. Furthermore, Agriterra supports farmer organizations in developing effective lobby which results in a more favorable business climate for farmers

The Agriterra team offers advice, training and study tours to farmer organizations and cooperatives. Most training is provided by professionals from the Dutch agricultural sector and agribusiness. These are farmer specialists, members and employees from farmer organizations and cooperative companies, as well as Agriterra staff.
