Kvinna till Kvinna is a non-profit organisation that supports women’s organizing with the aim to advance women’s rights and promote sustainable peace. It does so by strengthening and supporting women’s rights organisations (organizational, thematically and economical). Kvinna till Kvinna is organised around three departments – Programme/Field, Communication, and Support. Through its Headquarter in Stockholm, Sweden, and 11 country offices, it supports more than 100 women’s rights organisations in five different regions (Western Balkans, South Caucasus, Middle East and North Africa, West and Central Africa).

The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation in Rwanda is recruiting a Finance Officer to their newly established office in Kigali.

Job Description

  • Financial oversight and management of Kvinna till Kvinna Rwanda operations in line with applicable law, Kvinna till Kvinna policies and procedures, and international standards.
  • Management of financial aspects of partner support, including assessing funding proposals, financial and audit reports;
  • Ensure partners adhere to financial management requirements of Kvinna till Kvinna providing support and capacity building where needed;
  •  Administrative duties such as overseeing procurements, maintaining archive and documentation systems, and registration of assets
  • Payroll administration and accounting.
  • Ensure taxes, staff benefits, insurances, social security payments, etc, are handled according to national legislation.

Professional Qualifications

  • Full professional qualification in accounting – Chartered/Certified Accountant (CPA, ACCA) or other comparable/equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a busy, preferably international, multicultural non-government organisation and handling donor funds.
  • Documented experience accounting and book keeping including budget development and follow-up;
  • Documented experience of payroll administration;
  • Knowledge of digital financial reporting systems;
  • Knowledge of anti-corruption procedures;
  •  Experience working with civil society, channeling funds to partner organisations, and capacity building in relation to financial management is a merit.

Personal Qualifications

  • High integrity to be able to handle cash and cash related transactions;
  • Proven interest in Kvinna till Kvinna’s thematic focus areas;
  •  Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda. Ability to communicate in French is a strong merit;
  • Commitment to Kvinna till Kvinna’s vision and mandate.

Terms and conditions of employment

Location: Kigali, Rwanda

Type of Contract: Fixed-term contract, half-time (50%) for one year with the possibility of extension. Starting date as soon as possible.  The position is open to residents of Rwanda. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
