Master Steel Ltd manufactures construction material in steel, such as roofing sheets, mild steel plates, open profiles, steel wires, hallow sections, nails and rebars.

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: Mechanical Workshop Officer

Master steel Ltd is currently recruiting for the position of Mechanical Workshop Officer, at the steel factory located at Gahanga Sector-Kicukiro District.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and monitoring work within the workshop, supervising the Space Instrument makers
  • Undertaking manufacturing and assembly jobs during busy periods
  • Managing stock levels (e.g. materials, fixings and tooling)
  • Report on workloads, participating in project reviews and giving advice to project managers and team leaders.
  • Quality control
  • Ensure that all stock is labeled and placed in the correct location.
  • Check-In and Prepare Equipment for Maintenance and Repair
  • Ensure that the workshop is kept clean and tidy and complies with health and safety legislation.
  • Carry out random stock check/validation on individual items as well as major stock checks.
  • Prepare building kits, equipment and stock for forthcoming jobs.

Skills

Essential

  • A thorough understanding of and experience with machining and fitting techniques.
  • Experienced in working with ultra clean instruments
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills able to motivate people.
  • Proven record of ability to manage time and work to strict deadlines.
  • Experience in working in a stores/workshop environment
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize workload
  • Basic computer skills

Desirable

  • Knowledge of stock control
  • Knowledge of basic health and safety
  • Trade counter experience

Nature of contract

  • Permanent

Qualification and other requirements

  • Candidate must have a diploma in mechanical/Electrical engineering.
  • Fresh graduate are also encouraged to apply
  • Working experience of 1-3years is an added advantage

The rate for this position is negotiable.
