Pivot Works is a city-scale treatment solution that converts human waste into renewable fuel. By creating fuel from waste and selling to industrial customers like cement companies, Pivot Works shifts the cost burden of sanitation away from poor urban citizens.

Position description

Pivot Works Ltd is a start-up waste-to-energy company that converts human waste into burnable fuel for industries. Our mission is to deliver complete and reliable urban sanitation at the world’s lowest price.

Pivot seeks a high-performing Sales Manager who will be responsible for marketing and securing long-term sales contracts for Pivot Fuel and new products being developed by the company.  The Sales Manager will initially concentrate on the Rwandan market with potential for regional expansion.

The Sales Manager must be hands-on, people-centered, enthusiastic, and goal oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic sales and marketing plan
  • Evaluate current product branding and propose strategic improvements
  • Negotiate product pricing and secure sales contracts
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Identify new market opportunities, emerging markets, and market shifts
  • Build and maintain strong understanding of market competition

  • A natural people person who is dynamic and at ease forging relationships
  • Strong communication skills and excellent negotiator
  • Strong listener who is able to elicit customers’ needs and interests
  • Innovative, creative, and strategic thinker
  • Prefer meeting and interacting with people to sitting at a computer

Qualifications

  • 5+ years professional experience in sales and marketing
  • Demonstrated track record of building out a sales pipeline
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and needs limited guidance
