The Rwandan Organization of Professional Counselors ARCT – Ruhuka  is a National Nonprofit making Organization , formed in April 30th 1998 and officially registered under the Ministerial Decree No.97/11 on 28 July, 2004 and registered by Rwanda Governance Board  (RGB).  The organization was started to support survivors of psychological trauma, through integrated and holistic services for prevention, care, and healing to facilitate recovery for sustainable unity and reconciliation, peace and development.

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

BACKGROUND

The Rwandan Organization of Professional Counselors ARCT–Ruhuka is a National Nonprofit making Organization, formed in April 30th 1998 and officially registered under the Ministerial Decree No.97/11 on 28 July, 2004 and registered by Rwanda Governance Board (RGB).  

Our mission: Is to lead the development and application of innovative psychosocial approaches to mental health services and strengthen professional capacity in understanding, treating and preventing mental health problems for sustainable development. 

Our Vision: ARCT-Ruhuka envisages a Rwanda where all people have access to integrated mental health services.

ARCT-Ruhuka wishes to recruit qualified candidates under the following positions:

 

Volunteers (2 positions)

ARCT - RUHUKA welcomes the involvement of community members and Volunteers as they enable us to deliver our mission, services and facilities to our beneficiaries than would be attainable without their help.

Reference to ARCT – Ruhuka volunteer policy, a volunteer is defined as someone who ‘gives their time freely for the benefit of others’. organization receives  volunteers who give their time because they are committed to the aims and principles of the organization and enjoy working with people with mental health (Psychological problems ) issues to improve their well being , facilitate recovery and integration, as well as  contributing to the organizational development.

In accordance with ARCT-Ruhuka volunteer policy, the Organization wish to recruit at least 2 Volunteers to help in implementation of different program and administration activities.

In particular, ARCT-Ruhuka wishes to recruit volunteers to help and contribute in the following areas;

General program Administration, Accounting, Website management, Marketing and communication, Monitoring and evaluation, Policy analysis and advocacy, Proposal and report writing.

A volunteer is expected to:

  • Be Conversant /knowledgeable inone or more of the areas given above with at least 3 years experience
  • Be ready and committed to work towards the organization’s mission statement
  • Treat everyone associated with the organisation with courtesy and respect
  • Trustworthy , supportive and encouraging to other volunteers
  • Upholding ARCT – Ruhuka standards and performingduties according to its policies, procedures and philosophies
  • Treat Organisation’s partners , beneficiaries , staff and members with dignity and respect
  • Dependable and consistent in fulfilling yobligations, by being reliable particularly with agreed arrangements.
  • Undertake training, information and knowledge sharing effectively
  • Be able to provide feedback and suggestions to the volunteer supervisor so that the volunteer program can be continually improved.
  • Be willing to abide by ARCT-Ruhuka volunteer policy
  • Provide threereferees; with contact details Recruitment and Selection process

ARCT – Ruhuka recruitment policy  is non discriminatory , the organization treats all people equally, regardless of gender, race, color, disability, status, religionor age. Therefore, all prospective volunteers from within the country and all over the world with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

  • Selection of qualified volunteers
  • Selected applicants will be invited to an informal interview to discuss their motivation for wanting to volunteer, theskills, expectations and experience they would contribute.
  • Will be offered confirmation when they have been accepted as a volunteer;
  • Offered a trial period of up to 3 months, after which they will be confirmed as an established ARCT - Ruhuka volunteer

The job descriptions with a concise list of tasks for volunteering at ARCT – Ruhuka depending on which area of expertise and department, will be developed during negotiations, agreed on and signed by both parties.
