Moucecore is a faith based NGO founded in 1993. Its mission is to end conflict through facilitating reconciliation and empowering communities as a way of eradicating poverty. Moucecore mission is “Mobilizing, organizing and equipping the local church and communities for holistic and sustainable development, thereby bringing about spiritual and socio-economic transformation.”

 MOUCECORE implements different projects, including Water Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH), and HIV/AIDS Prevention.

ACCOUNTANT - Job advertisement

MOUCECORE wishes to recruit a qualified and well-experienced candidate to fill the following position:

Job Title:                                 Accountant

Location:                                MOUCECORE Headquarters at Gasabo district, Kigali City

Reports to:                             Executive Director

Main duties

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the accountant will have the following responsibilities:

  1. Daily preparation of journals and posting of accounting transactions into the financial software
  2. Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports of monetary movements for every source of funding
  3. To regularly prepare and timely submit financial reports to be submitted to different donors
  4. Prepare the payment of the monthly staff salaries
  5. Establish bank reconciliations for each account
  6. Verify all supporting documents for authenticity before entering them in the organization’s accounting software.
  7. Write cheques and have them signed
  8. Keep in a safe the checkbooks, pre-numbered vouchers and other documents
  9. Perform Monthly bank reconciliation for approval and other balance sheet accounts
  10. Ensure all taxes are paid according to the Rwandan taxation law
  11. Perform any other duty as assigned by the line manager
  12. Bachelor degree in accounting or related fields
  13. Having computer literacy notably the Windows environment and the mastery of the accounting software 
  14. Having at least three years’ experience working with NGOs

Other requirements

  1. Rwandan nationality and Committed Christian,
  2. Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  3. Self-directing, reliable and responsible
  4. Having a mind of initiative and dynamism
  5. Having a teamwork spirit and ability to work under pressure
  6. Having a good understanding of NGO and community-based programs
  7. Having good command of English and good knowledge of French and Kinyarwanda
