Dates and delivery mode

  • Full-time Program: October 14–18, 2024 (Day Program)
    Duration: 5 Days
    Timings: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily
  • Part-time Program: October 14–25, 2024 (Evening Program)
    Duration: 2 Weeks (Monday to Friday)
    Timings: 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM daily

Course overview

This training program focuses on building essential skills in Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (PMEAL). It is designed for a broad range of participants, from secondary school graduates to individuals with advanced diplomas, bachelor’s, or master’s degrees, who aim to excel in project delivery and continuous improvement. The program offers practical, hands-on learning to equip participants with tools and techniques for managing projects, ensuring accountability, and fostering learning within the Rwandan context. Participants will also learn modern tools for data-driven decision-making and effective project management.

Learning objectives

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Understanding the project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
  • Real-world case studies from Rwanda and beyond.

Project planning & risk management

  • Techniques for scoping projects, identifying risks, and developing contingency plans.
  • Practical budgeting and resource management strategies.

Project management approaches

  • Overview of project management methodologies like Agile.
  • Adaptive management techniques for handling changes in projects.

Stakeholder engagement

  • Understanding stakeholder dynamics and their influence on project success.
  • Techniques for stakeholder mapping, engagement, and conflict resolution.

Project Management Tools and Software

  • Overview on using software such as Microsoft Project, Trello, and Asana.
  • Practical exercises on creating project timelines, Gantt charts, and dashboards.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL)

Monitoring and evaluation frameworks

  • Definition and importance of Monitoring and evaluation
  • Building M&E frameworks suited to specific projects.

Data collection and analysis
