CONSULTANCY TO UNDERTAKE THE ASSESSMENT OF THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AT HOUSEHOLD LEVEL AND COMMUNITY LEVELS

Pro-Femmes/ Twese Hamwe (PFTH) is one of Umbrella CSO members of Rwandan Civil Society Platform aiming at advancement of women status, peace, and development. It was established in October 1992, and currently represents 53 member organizations within the country.  The mission of Pro-Femmes/Twese Hamwe is to eradicate all forms of discrimination towards women and girls, to promote their socio-economic political, and legal status, and to enhance the institutional and organizational capacities of its member organizations through the promotion of sustainable human development approach based on gender equality and a culture of peace, justice, and human rights.

To achieve her mission of promoting social-economic status of women and girls, in partnership with CARE International in Rwanda, PFTH is implementing a 5 years’ project (2020-2025) titled “Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWEP III)”. The project will economically, socially, and politically empower 173,000 women and girls in the Southern Province.

GEWEP III uses a gender transformative approach to address the underlying causes of poverty and social injustice. The theory of change for GEWEP III is based on the POWER socio-ecological model and includes strategies at the different levels of individuals, households, and communities, the local enabling environment, and the national structures and processes for all the GEWEP III components of civil society strengthening, women economic empowerment, changing social norms, promoting women and girls’ voice and participation in decision making processes at local level and supporting adolescent sexual reproductive health and rights.

 Interested applicants are requested to submit their application letter, technical offer containing the understating to the ToR, methodology, and work plan as well as all requested administrative documents, CVs and academic certificates of the proposed team, and financial proposal addressed to the Executive Director of Pro-Femmes/Twese Hamwe.  The technical proposal and financial proposal shall be submitted in separate envelopes (the two envelopes shall be sealed in outer envelope) and submitted in the central secretariat of Pro- Femmes/ Twese Hamwe office located in Gahanga sector Kicukiro district, not later than Monday  October 25th,  2021 at 10:00 am. Submitted technical offers will be publically opened at 10:30.
