PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Plan International is seeking a full-time Finance and Operations Manager for an anticipated four-year DFID-funded ‘Investing in Adolescent Girls’ (IAG-R) programme in Rwanda. The objective of the programme is to enable up to 150,000 adolescent girls and 50,000 boys in Rwanda to have the capabilities for a safe, healthy, educated and empowered transition to adulthood.

Subject to the approval of funding and contingent on DFID approval of the candidate, this post will play a key role in the success of the IAG-R programme, as part of the management team.

The Finance and Operations Manager is responsible for the overall management of all areas of the IAG-R programme related to finance, budgetary management and oversight, and partner sub-contract management, as well as other operational and administrative duties required by the programme. They will lead all of the financial and operational aspects of the programme including managing the 4-year expected budget of £11.8million GBP. They will ensure that rigorous systems and controls are in place and operating at an optimal level. They will also minimise financial risk where possible.

 

The post-holder will ensure that team members have the right skills in all aspects of finance and operations, including strong knowledge of DFID compliance and contractual requirements. The post-holder will ensure that programme staff are continuously supported to provide transparent and accountable services in line with Plan International’s policies and the laws of Rwanda.
