Annual Rwanda Job Day hoping to attract talents

For the third consecutive year, the Rwanda Job Day will be held at the Serena Hotel on December 16th, 2013.

This recruitment event is co-organized by J.I.R Ltd, owner of the recruitment website www.jobinrwanda.com and WAF (@Wakening Abilities for the Future), a young professionals association based in Belgium, in partnership with the Rwanda Development Board.

The annual event serves as a major recruitment drive, enabling employers and job candidates to interact easily and to carry out some first steps in the recruitment process. But more important, the event aimed at inspiring and empowering young professionals to choose the right careers paths and make informed decisions.

According to Mrs. Diana Ingabire Karemano, the event coordinator, the labor market is highly competitive, therefore it’s a great opportunity for companies to sell themselves, and for talented job candidates to connect with employers and find out about trends of the labor market.

Around 50 organizations from banking, insurance, NGOs, brewery, real estate and telecommunications will be among employers looking for qualified staff.

Moreover 40% of the job candidate participants are from the Rwandan Diaspora. "By organizing this event in December, we give them an opportunity to also sell their international working expertise to local employers. They are indeed a valuable potential to reduce the skills gap observed in the Rwanda labor market”, said Diana Ingabire Karemano.
