POSITION TITLE: Advisor to the Director of Partnerships
REPORTS TO: Director of Partnerships
POSITION SUMMARY
The Advisor to the Director of Partnerships provides high-level strategic, operational, and advisory support to the Director in the execution of the Partnerships and Sponsorship portfolio. The role is responsible for strengthening coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders, enhancing partnership performance, and supporting data-driven decision-making through insights and analysis.
The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to the Director, ensuring strong alignment between strategic priorities and execution, while improving efficiency, reporting, and stakeholder engagement across the partnerships function.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic Advisory and Coordination
- Support the Director in shaping and refining partnership strategies and priorities
- Provide analytical insights and recommendations to inform decision-making
- Ensure alignment between strategic objectives and ongoing partnership activities
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs to enable seamless execution of partnership initiatives
2. Operational Support and Execution Oversight
- Track implementation of partnership plans across all sponsorship portfolios
- Monitor progress against deliverables, timelines, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Facilitate internal coordination to ensure timely and effective delivery of activities
3. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Support the Director in managing relationships with key partners, agencies, and stakeholders
- Prepare briefing notes, presentations, and talking points for high-level engagements
- Participate in partner meetings and ensure follow-up on agreed actions and commitments
- Maintain consistent, professional, and effective communication across all stakeholder interactions
4. Reporting, Insights, and Performance Monitoring
- Lead the preparation of partnership reports, dashboards, and executive updates
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of reporting across all partnerships
- Analyze performance data and generate insights to support continuous improvement
5. Office of the Director Support
- Provide day-to-day advisory and administrative support to the Director
- Manage priorities, track key initiatives, and ensure follow-through on critical actions
- Support preparation for internal and external meetings, including documentation and logistics
- Act as a liaison between the Director and internal/external stakeholders as required
REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants must be Rwandan nationals
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, International Relations, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an added advantage
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in brand partnerships, business development, marketing, or communications
- Exposure to partnership development, sponsorship coordination, or stakeholder engagement within the Rwandan or regional market (internships and graduate trainee experience considered)
- Understanding of strategic planning and performance metrics for institutional development is an added advantage
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, organizational, and planning skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and support execution during live events
- Demonstrated project management skills, including coordinating cross-functional teams and delivering results
- Fluency in English and French is required; proficiency in Kinyarwanda or Spanish is an added advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
