POSITION TITLE: Partnership Manager (3 Positions)
REPORTS TO: Director of Partnerships
POSITION SUMMARY
The Partnership Managers will play a critical role in delivering Rwanda’s global sponsorship ambitions by providing dedicated, in-market ownership of existing partnerships. They will be responsible for managing day-to-day partnership operations in close collaboration with cross-functional marketing and communications teams, ensuring effective implementation of sponsorship activities in line with Rwanda’s global sponsorship strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Partnership Ownership and Relationship Management
- Own, maintain, and develop assigned partnerships, including coordinating regular status meetings
- Maintain accurate and well-organized partnership documentation (rights utilization trackers, budgets, invoices, and payment schedules)
- Build and sustain strong relationships with partner organizations by understanding their industry, business priorities, and marketing objectives
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth account operations and continuous improvement
- Represent Rwanda professionally in all partner-related engagements and events
2. Rights Delivery and Activation
- Collaborate with government entities and external stakeholders to develop and execute annual rights utilization and activation plans
- Drive innovative marketing campaigns and activation initiatives aligned with strategic objectives and global best practices
- Manage on-ground events and activations, including logistics, travel, accommodation, and VIP hospitality arrangements
- Ensure clear integration of brand messaging across all sponsorship platforms, including on-site branding and activations
- Develop and maintain tracking tools to ensure timely delivery of all contractual rights and benefits
- Oversee delivery of services from external agencies and suppliers, ensuring adherence to quality standards
3. Budget Management
- Support financial planning and budget management in collaboration with the Director of Partnerships
- Track expenditures and ensure efficient utilization of partnership budgets
- Support negotiations with external suppliers to ensure cost-effective delivery of services
4. Partnership Performance Tracking and Reporting
- Lead the development of regular partnership performance reports, capturing key activities, outcomes, and success metrics
- Manage relationships with monitoring and evaluation agencies to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Facilitate monthly reporting meetings with stakeholders to present performance, risks, mitigation strategies, and forward plans
REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants must be Rwandan nationals
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, preferably with specialization in Marketing, Project Management, or Business Administration; a Master’s degree is an added advantage
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sponsorship, sports marketing, or partnership management
- Proven experience managing major client accounts within a sponsorship or marketing environment
- Experience in live event delivery, hospitality execution, or branded content activations is an added advantage
- Strong ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation abilities
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in-market
- Strong planning and project management skills, including managing multiple timelines and cross-functional teams
- Flexible and solutions-oriented mindset
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including attendance at domestic and international events
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French, Kinyarwanda, or Spanish is an added advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
