PLANT OPERATOR - 10 POSITIONS

Grade: B2

Department: Metallurgy

Job Brief: To operate and monitor all stages of the gravity concentration circuit to ensure optimum recovery and product quality, while maintaining safety, environmental and production standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor crushing, screening and gravity separation units (jigs, shaking tables, spirals).
• Adjust water flow, feed rates and equipment settings to maintain steady operation and target recoveries.
• Perform routine checks on pumps, screens, tables, spirals, jigs, conveyors and crushers.
• Ensure concentrate, middlings and tailings are properly handled and directed to correct streams.
• Record hourly readings of feed tonnage, density and recovery data; collect and label samples for analysis.
• Report unusual plant behaviour (surging, blockages, poor recovery) and assist maintenance during shutdowns.
• Follow safety and LOTO procedures; wear correct PPE; report unsafe conditions or spills immediately.

Requirements:

• Any Certificate in the Mining field.
• 1-3 years' experience in plant operations, specifically gravity concentration plants.
• Knowledge of gravity separation principles, process equipment and the up-grading process.
• Basic understanding of pumps, slurry handling and plant operation parameters.
• Trustworthy, safety-conscious team player with basic mathematical and writing skills.
