Job Description
The Procurement Assistant Intern supports the procurement team in purchasing goods and services needed by the organization. The role ensures that orders are processed correctly, deliveries are tracked and supplier records are well maintained. The position helps ensure smooth and timely supply of materials at the best value.
Responsibilities
- Assist in sourcing and identifying reliable suppliers
- Support the preparation and processing of purchase orders
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, suppliers, and contracts
- Compare prices and assist in selecting cost-effective suppliers
- Help track orders and report any delays or issues
- Work with internal departments to understand procurement needs
- Assist in reviewing invoices and ensuring correct documentation
- Support compliance with procurement policies and procedures
- Assist in collecting data for reports and procurement performance tracking
- Help identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’ s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business
Administration, or related field - Previous experience in procurement or office administration is an added advantage
- Basic understanding of purchasing and supplier management processes
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work with numbers and maintain accurate records
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, or procurement systems)
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
