Gasmeth Energy Mission:
Gasmeth Energy is to develop and produce methane from Lake Kivu in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner. The Company will distribute compressed natural gas (CNG) throughout the country, reducing or removing environmental pollution using cleaner, greener gas, displacing liquid or solid hydrocarbons.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The HR Officer is responsible for supporting the effective implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives. They play a key role in recruitment, employee relations, training, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Recruitment & Onboarding
- Draft job descriptions, post vacancies, and manage the full recruitment process.
- Screen resumes, schedule interviews, evaluate candidates, and perform reference checks.
- Coordinate onboarding to ensure new hire documentation is complete.
2. Employee Relations & Engagement
- Foster a positive workplace culture aligned with company values.
- Support performance management, disciplinary processes, and handle day-to-day employee queries.
- Organize team-building activities and staff meetings.
3. Compliance & Records Management
- Maintain accurate employee files (contracts, attendance, leaves, and benefits).
- Ensure operations adhere to local labor laws, HR policies, and industry standards.
- Issue internal documentation, including contracts, ID badges, and formal notices.
4. Payroll & Benefits Support
- Process monthly attendance and leave data to support accurate payroll execution.
- Identify and resolve attendance discrepancies.
- Assist with benefits administration and answer related employee inquiries.
5. Training & Administrative Support
- Coordinate training sessions, workshops, and track employee development records.
- Provide general administrative support, including filing, data entry, and official HR correspondence.
- Perform other HR-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–3 years of core HR experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, HR software, and digital record-keeping/online filing.
- Knowledge: Solid grasp of local labor laws and modern HR best practices.
