The Coordination Office of the Partnership between Rhineland-Palatinate and Rwanda (Jumelage) oversees most of the projects carried out within the framework of the partnership.

The Coordination Office of the Partnership between Rhineland-Palatinate and Rwanda (Jumelage) oversees most of the projects carried out within the framework of the partnership.

The Coordination Office of the Partnership Rhineland-Palatinate/Rwanda is looking for a 

Junior Project Officer in the Department for Sports and Youth Development

General tasks:

  • To support the planning, implementation and evaluation of sports and youth related activities and projects 
  • To support the coordinator in the implementation of the conceptual and strategic plan for the department
  • To regularly plan, implement and follow up project visits
  • To support the promotion and strengthening of existing cooperations and the identification of new partners
  • To support the identification of potential activities that relate to the department portfolio for projects ideas
  • To support the conceiving and elaboration of funding applications and project proposals in close collaboration with respective beneficiaries and partners
  • To support the writing of financial and narrative project reports
  • To provide preliminary work for annual planning, monitoring, and evaluation of projects to the coordinator. 
  • To support the coordination of (youth) exchange programs 
  • To support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of intercultural training and workshops for youth and partner organizations
  • To support the coordination of the interactions with (alumni) networks in Rwanda and Germany

Required qualifications and competencies:

  • A university degree (Bachelor level) in a relevant field such as e.g. development cooperation, cultural or social studies
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office programs 
  • Good knowledge of social media tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda, German and French language skills are an asset
  • Initiative and ability to work independently
  • Being proactive 
  • Ability to develop own ideas for project proposals
  • Team-oriented way of working
  • High organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure
  • Flexibility and reliable in work results
