Position Summary
The Procurement Executive will be responsible for managing the procurement and supply chain activities for oil and gas clients, ensuring the timely sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of materials and equipment. The role also involves coordinating freight and logistics from Malta to Libya, working closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to ensure shipments are delivered efficiently and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure materials, equipment and spare parts, in line with customer requirements.
- Obtain quotations, evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing, and issue purchase orders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers and manufacturers.
- Monitor purchase orders and expedite deliveries to meet project deadlines.
- Coordinate freight shipments from Malta to Libya, including liaising with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and customs brokers.
- Prepare and review shipping and export documentation to ensure compliance with import and export requirements.
- Work closely with warehouse, logistics, finance, and operations teams to ensure seamless supply chain execution.
- Track shipments and provide customers with regular updates on order and delivery status.
- Resolve procurement, logistics, and supplier-related issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate procurement and shipment records and prepare regular reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency and reduce supply chain costs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in procurement and supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics, preferably within the oil and gas or industrial sector.
- Knowledge of international procurement, freight forwarding, and import/export procedures.
- Experience coordinating international shipments, ideally between Europe and North Africa.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Business Central ERP systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and customer service orientation.
