JOB DESCRIPTION 

1. Key Responsibilities

A. Tea Shop Operations

  • Manage the daily operations of the Tea Shop and ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Ensure the shop is opened and closed according to established procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, attractive, and welcoming shop environment.
  • Ensure that products are properly displayed, labelled, priced, and available for customers.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to resolve operational issues affecting the Tea Shop.

B. Sales and Business Development

  • Drive sales of RMT tea products and other approved products offered at the Tea Shop.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to increase customer traffic and sales.
  • Identify opportunities to promote RMT products to individuals, companies, tourists, institutions, and other potential customers.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with customers.
  • Promote new products, special offers, seasonal products, and other approved promotions.
  • Monitor sales performance against agreed targets and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Prepare sales forecasts and contribute to sales planning when required.

C. Customer Service

  • Ensure customers receive professional, friendly, and timely service.
  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Gather customer feedback and communicate relevant issues and opportunities to management.
  • Ensure customers receive accurate information about RMT products, prices, preparation, and usage.
  • Promote a positive customer experience that strengthens the RMT brand.

D. Stock Management

  • Monitor stock levels and ensure the availability of fast-moving products.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and conduct regular stock counts.
  • Coordinate stock replenishment with the relevant departments.
  • Monitor product expiry dates and ensure proper stock rotation using appropriate procedures.
  • Investigate and report stock variances, damages, losses, or wastage.
  • Ensure products are stored appropriately and securely.

E. Cash and Financial Control

  • Ensure accurate recording of all sales transactions.
  • Supervise cash handling and ensure compliance with company cash-control procedures.
  • Reconcile daily sales, cash, and electronic payment transactions.
  • Ensure all sales are properly supported by receipts or approved transaction records.
  • Report any cash shortages, discrepancies, or irregularities immediately.
  • Ensure proper handling and submission of daily sales collections in accordance with company procedures.

F. Team Supervision

  • Supervise Tea Shop staff and allocate daily duties.
  • Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, and performance.
  • Train and coach staff on customer service, product knowledge, sales techniques, and operational procedures.
  • Promote teamwork, professionalism, discipline, and accountability.
  • Identify staff training and development needs and communicate them to management.
  • Ensure staff comply with RMT policies and standards.

G. Marketing and Brand Promotion

  • Support the implementation of RMT marketing and promotional activities at the Tea Shop.
  • Ensure RMT branding, product presentation, and promotional materials are properly displayed.
  • Support product tasting, demonstrations, events, and other promotional activities where applicable.
  • Provide feedback to the Sales & Marketing Department on customer preferences, market trends, and competitor activities.
  • Support initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and visibility of RMT tea products.

H. Reporting and Administration

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports as required.
  • Report on stock levels, stock movements, customer feedback, and operational challenges.
  • Maintain accurate Tea Shop records and documentation.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and provide regular updates to the supervisor.
  • Escalate operational, financial, customer, or staff issues appropriately and promptly.

I. Health, Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure the Tea Shop complies with applicable health, safety, hygiene, and company requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the shop.
  • Ensure safe handling and storage of tea products and other merchandise.
  • Report accidents, incidents, hazards, and other safety concerns promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable company policies and procedures.

J. Qualifications and experience are as follows:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in sales, hospitality, customer service, or Lounge management.
  • Experience in staff supervision, sales, and stock management is an added advantage.
  • Experience in food and beverage, tea, coffee, or a related industry is also an advantage.
